Said it before and I'll say it again" The best bang for buck cards you can get today new or used is a 7800XT. 16 gigs and 256 bit memory. Not to mention the minimal RGB for those who prefer minimalist builds like myself. Got one for $550 brand new on Newegg.

But it was a 4060, not a 50 series card. And yeah, that along with an upgrade to a Ryzen 7 9700x has me up from about 30 FPS in WoW to over 200. So I'm good on upgrades for another few years.

After running Ollama with Gemma 3 on my Strix 3070, and noting how fast it was, thinking you need a 5090 for an LLM is stupid. (Also AI does not exist, that is a lie.)
We still need something for those F chips, oh wait an used 580 will do.
At this point, if you're going for a 5090, buy the same brand of GPU and PSU, just in case!
having just 2 players in GPU is the problem , they just price fix or one fumbles and other jack up prices , its the worst thing in any market having duopoly .
intel is just NPC in gpu space atm , hope thay sort things out and 3 way could be what consumers need , competition is better for consumers, lets just hope .
Well, since AMD has so clearly chosen to acquiesce to Nvidia when it comes to making decisions for their own GPU business unit, at least that means we will almost certainly see an AMD RX 9070 XTX featuring 24Gb of VRAM. I'd be okay with that.
Paul, if I have a GTX 1650 4GB being used for a Plex encode/decode card, would you think one of these new 8GB cards would be a good replacement? I've also considered the Intel B580.

What if AMD drops a 9080 GPU after the 9060 run, that would be insane. It would also effectively make Nvidia's release strategy redundant as the 9080's would trade blows with their lower tier 60xx series, taking some of that market share.
